I write to you in a time of uncertainty and concern around the educational landscape and the wider communities. Times such as these demand the need for community and support for one another in whatever capacity that may be. I am sure we can all agree that we have never experienced the magnitude of what is happening in any of our lifetimes and we see challenging times ahead. The Hope community is strong and always has been which is why the staff at Hope are so very proud to work there. The staff have been working tirelessly to not only support their young people but to also support their families, and are either providing continuing support in the limited day programme, or providing work and contact support.
Family at this time is the most important thing and I urge you to look after yourselves and those around you- community is stronger together. The education of the students will be caught up and anything missed will be covered in the months ahead so please do not worry. Life has taken a pause for the time being but we must continue to support the key workers and the people around us.
With regards to external exams, what is clear is that these have been cancelled. We expect further updates later this week and will then be able to provide greater clarity on how students and young people will be awarded the examination results that they deserve.
The general Home Learning packs detailed below or more specific work being sent home are designed to keep students working and occupied. Please continue to check this page over the coming weeks as it will be continually updated. If your child has completed the work provided, please make contact via Hope Epsom or Guildford to request further information.
Useful websites The internet is a great resource for learning from home however, you must be clear on what sites you are visiting and how you are using them. Playing online maths games seems fun but often does not consolidate the learning which takes place in the classroom. The table below shows a selection of the best learning based websites – and for more specific learning resources for English and Maths please see these attached documents.
